In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I can't say for the magazine cover or the trailer as I wasn't involved in it however I did make the poster before the final edits were made. The conventions I chose to stick to were one to have the credits on the poster be tiny and almost illegible, the image I used was a mid long shot, and the colors used are dark as per most horror posters.

What will probably stand out is the use of 'snap maps' in the background; I don't quite understand it but its an app that lets you track where your friends are which is also what the killer uses to track it's victims in the trailer, another way of linking th eposter and trailer together.

Poster Photoshop

These are the print screens for the process of creating the poster before it was re-edited.

Ticket process

First I opened a regular A4 page in Photoshop.

Then flipped it into Landscape.

I added in the title of our movie in the same font used in the trailer, poster and cover to link them.

I used a black underlay and blurred it using the Gaussian blur option which gave it a slight shadow.

I added in the school logo as that is where it will be presented... in school.

It was however slightly too large and distracted from the main title so I shrunk it.

I typed in all the necessary information and aligned it all.

 I placed in the poster for an ascetic touch.

I shrunk the poster and cropped the page all that's left is to decide the background or if there will even be one.

The first version is the one we went for; the idea is that it's meant to look old and withered.

The second version was scrapped;the idea was that it was meant to look darker as it's a dark story.
